How to get a phone number 90% of the time!

When you go to the door and someone besides the Defendant answers the door it would be good to have a phone number. The easiest way to get a phone number for the defendant, is to simply say "I would like to call before I come next time could you give me your phone number?" (here is the trick) Take your pen in hand and lower your head and prepare to write. Don't say another word, DO NOT look up. With you eyes fastened on where and what you are about to write remain silent, and 90% of the time they will give you a phone number. Wouldn't it be great to have a phone number? You bet it would! So put you head down and pen in hand ready to write, don't look up and don't speak until they give you the number.
